Not of the sort that does them any good.
Assuming they are not spoiled rich kids, all it does is make them go to their parents to pay their fines. Which, if they are in the middle-to-lower income bracket you were just talking about, their parents may honestly not be able to afford.
So then you have the same type of at-home disciplinary situation that should have been taking place to begin with, except with unfair and unrealistic expectations of the parents in terms of paying for their kids' "crimes."
If they ARE spoiled rich kids, as already stated, they'll laugh off the fine and learn nothing except that you can buy your way out of punishment for bad behavior. |
