...to hang a lot of weight on the social ramifications of a simple Disney movie.

Her point is right. Lewis wrote the series to be intentionally preachy...a morality tale with barely-hidden religious undertones.

But she treats the movie as if it's criminal to cover what it's covered. As if it's wrong for people to want to go watch it. Or that it's somehow nefarious for Disney to market a movie with religious undertones to religious people who are likely to enjoy it.

I mean, if she doesn't like the movie or the ideals it's based on, fine. She didn't really have to go.
