I am something of a FrameMaker expert.

1. You do NOT want structured FrameMaker. It is for doing "single sourcing" with XML and such... it's overkill for a beginner.

2. There should be an excellent tutorial from Adobe. I don't think it's free, however. I don't know about the costs... I've always had training via my work and they paid for it.

3. You will need a template. There are a host of free templates on the Adobe website. You can use them as is, or modify them to suit your own needs.

This will keep you busy for a couple of hours to days, depending. I'm sure you will have more questions - my email is my nick at the gmail spot.
