See, MySQL hasn't always met the standards for a relational database management system, commonly known as atomicity, consistency, isolation, and durability. (Whether it does so now is an entirely different flame war.) One programmer found its deficiencies the hard way, over many months. He absolutely hated the code he had to write to match the limitations of the database.
He finally got so irritated at his company's MySQL server that he wanted to do something symbolic and get rid of the whole machine. He walked to the server room, and tried for several minutes, but it was far too heavy to lift.
One similarly annoyed coworker figured out what was going on, and went to find a cart. He ended up finding two small dollies that could support the server on each end, without having to lift it very high. They managed to get the server in place, then the programmer merrily pushed it out of the building. Granted, not the wisest course of action, but it was cathartic.
So what happenned?
