To torment oneself because of a stupid mistake in an action that should have gone perfectly. To properly do this the mistake and action must have occurred as long ago as possible. So effectively you can torment yourself because of a mistake made years ago. Nevermind how stupid or reasonable it felt at the time of occurrence.
