ATTN: Wheresthefish / any aircraft experts? by Jeff_UK 2005-11-29 13:04:28
Can anyone give a me a rough figure for the speed that the 'average' big jet's undercarriage will fail.

I'm trying to discover how fast a big passenger jet could travel on the ground, before the wheels break due to the high speed.

(no factors other than the speed, if they don't break 'til 1000mph, then that's how fast the plane can go :) )

Any info anyone can supply will be appreciated, maximum safe landing speeds etc will be just as good! :)

ta!

Jeff...
