even broader price range. I know of some 200-1000 ¤ range.

Some reason are features, size, power consumption and like.

Most, I think, goes to stability (i.e. how long the thing will stand without repair) and cost-of-repair (cheap can mean "easy to manufacture, but difficult to repair later").
