It's been over 48 hours of positive temperatures (as high as +11C) and there's been everything from drizzel to hard driving rain. There is still some snow on the ground! Bloody tenacious that snow is! (and back on the subject) Technically there isn't a minimum temperature that can produce snow. But practically, as air temperatures decrease, it loses moisture. So it's rather rare for a blizzard to occur at -40C.
