A simple real estate transaction in a cheap area of the country cost $500 US per transaction. $500 for buyer's contract, $500 (US) for seller's contract. And that's just for the routine deal that the legal secretary types up and the lawyer glances at for 30 seconds to approve it.

I know nothing of pre-nups, but wills tend to go $500 to $1000, so I'd expect pre-nups to do similar. Since you DO have a little one on the way, you ARE discussing wills and guardianship issues should something happen to you both, right?
