I'm neither a "people person" nor am I an "attention seeker". I do best in small groups with people I know, or just one-on-one. In those scenarios, having to compete for attention or not doesn't seem to really matter. But in larger groups -- especially with utter strangers -- either having to compete for attention or being the focus of it makes me uncomfortable.
