My mother just came out of surgery -- seven hours' worth of surgery. In Vermont. And I live in Nevada. AND NO ONE TOLD ME. She's able to use less than 50% of her lung capacity (if I'm saying that right). Daaaayummmm and blast. And other very bad words. Now I only wish I had me a shoulder to cry on.
