| Was a little before my time. I do, however, know the guy that was in charge of those speaker teams. I worked with him on a couple of ops. It was well known that Noriega didn't like Rock 'n' Roll, so he was bombarded with it. "I Fought the Law" was played non-stop for an extended period of time as was "No Where to Run". It was, in fact, political in-fighting between PsyOps, SF, 3rd Bat, and Delta regarding Noriega that eventually created the PsyOps detachment I belonged to. In Somalia, we used to blast heavy metal all up and down the MSR. I had a guy comment on that when I was at Ft. Drum this year. "Who were you with?" "PsyOps" "Oh man! I loved you guys! I'd volunteer for convoy duty on the MSR just to listen to music." I got such a kick out of that. :) As for bar fights....Yeah, the tactical boys liked to throw down. Some of the strategic guys were weenies. :D Can you tell which side of the fence I sat on? LOL |
