Now I'd always go for hash browns with cheese, onion, tomato, and sour cream when I was running out of cash as a student. A pound or so didn't cost much, and fed me for the better part of a day.
2 gallons of chili in a crock pot worked pretty well, too. Not too expensive, and many days worth of food.
I admit I've been overly sheltered to some degree. I've been pressed for cash in the short term, but never really poor. And my parents were there to bail me out when car trouble or such would break me entirely. It's funny how I couldn't find a proper dry cleaner or full-service car wash in Gainesville, but there were no less than 5 Starbucks. Student priorities are nuts. |
