Does the cord that goes into the power socket	by cybergeek	2005-10-06 18:06:20
come unplugged from the adapter itself? (i.e. is it a two piece adapter?) If so, check that first. Then, see if you can manually and intentionally make it do the wall->battery->wall thing so you can figure out if it's a problem on the laptop side or the adapter side. Or at least, that's what I'd do. IANA electrician, so I'm probably not gonna be able to be any more helpful than that :(
