"What?" Detective Gibbs looked up from the report he was reading.
"Who is Walter jackson?" his partner repeated.
Gibbs buried his face in his hands. Just what he needed. A big murder case, and his partner was playing guessing games again.
"Ok" said Gibbs "What the h4 are you talking about".
"well...." his partner began "I was looking over the evidence from the McKinley murder scene and came across a scrap of paper with the name Walter jackson scribbled on it."
Gibbs' mood suddenly changed. His partner may actually have something interesting here. It had been less than 48 ours since Owen McKinley had been killed in his mansion on the outskirts of town, and already the press was clamoring for answers. They had been unable to locate any of McKinley's family, heck they couldn't even find any record of his existence beyond his arrival in town 10 years ago.
Gibbs took the evidence bag containing the paper from his partner's hands and examined it. The words had been hastily scrawled. Could this be a lead on the killer? "Did you run his name?" Gibbs asked his partner. "Doing that now." was the response. Time slowed to a crawl for the detectives. Why was it taking so long for the computer to respond? In reality, it was only a few seconds. They both stared at the screen. The information onthe screen didn't help the case. If anything it confused things even more.
"Walter Jackson. AKA Owen Jarvis McKinley." they continued reading the screen for a few moments. The information contained on it revealed much about Jackson/McKinley. No leads on the murder, but some very interesting things indeed.
At least they now knew the answer to the question of "Who is Walter Jackson?". |
