Being able to keep stuff on the Tux cluster is useful, since I can access it from any computer on campus via SSH. However, if I want to have direct access to those files and be able to edit them in real-time, I'll use the computers in the CS lab from now on. In the meantime, I just discovered that SSH has a nice file-transfer tool built in, which means that I won't have to email stuff to myself anymore.
I was using Kate to do my development this time, but is there a true C++ IDE for Linux that I could use? Something roughly equivalent to what JCreator is for Java development would be excellent...
Oh yeah, just for the record - does anyone else find it annoying that copying text to the "clipboard" (or the Linux equivalent) from the remote computer won't allow you to paste it in Windows? If I could have done that, it would have made transferring my code so much simpler... |
