why is it necessary to reward them fiscally for something they're already doing?

were they for example not able to afford to give out soup, and the gvt donated the soup, why should the gvt not recieve recognition for the soup distributed by the church?

if the church is claiming the soup it it's own, then the gvt just donated $ to the church, not to the soup kitchen. big difference. it's about co-mingling of funds, even if by name only.

it is no more insulting or cheap than implying that only someone of a particular denomination is qualified to be a paid chef or janitor at a salvation army center. i used HH specifically because i was only aware of it as a secular orginization. maybe red cross and red crescent should only hire christians or muslims and serve them specifically, or can synagogues that run a homeless shelter turn away goy if they recieve gvt funding?

is that ethical?
