As the Rain Comes... by babywhizIT 2005-10-04 17:43:43
She poked her nose out the front door. A fresh scent of fall showers linger in the air, as the approaching front forces its bodace closer.

The rain came pouring down, soaking the parking lot, washing away the traces of cigarette butts from the stoop. The sound of the drops as they smacked the pavement, ever so alluring. She stepped out, allowing the water to pour over her.

Gazing down the road, huddled under a single umbrella, a well-dressed husband and wife, dashing from their car that just ran out of gas.

Ever so softly, she hears a voice. As she turns around, there he is. Her heart jumps, light as a feather! He starts running toward her, arms aloft. As she kicks off her shoes, and runs, he stops.

Her heart falls, what has happened?

As she turns, the gruesome sight begins. The husband under the umbrella has lost his wife, who had falled in a mud puddle. The husband starts to poke fun, and the wife begins to cry.

Gazing at him, she realizes that she has just lost to only man she ever loved to a girl in a mud puddle. He runs to the wife, to be gingerly picking her up.

The husband, however, tosses down the umbrella and shouts "You can HAVE her!", as the husband is stomping away.

Her man, her love, is running to HER! Then, as he is running, he slips on the mud, and lands square on top of her, breaking her ribs...

The husband, however, gently picks up the umbrella, and walks up to her, caressing her face ever so gently, while he puts the umbrella over her.
