| If want to live where it's quiet, where my neighbour is 1.5+ km away, where I get to smell fresh pine and nothing else, and can give up a pile of city conveniences, then Vancouver ain't the place to be.
But if I want a bit of varied culture (art, symphonies, festivals), half-decent infrastructure, access to the water and the mountains, lots of accessable outdoor recreation, beautiful views downtown, a moderate climate, more restaurants per capita than any other city in the world, and a direct connection to the Asia-Pacific rim, Vancouver is hard to beat. And of course we can get our overpriced coffees and housing here too. :) |
