first, update the driver for the NIC on WS#2 by classic_jon 2005-10-04 14:04:05
If I remember correctly, the 169.254.xxx.xxx is the default windows internal IP. That means that it has not connected to a dhcp server, IE your Router. Do you have WEP turned on? If you do not have WEP or MAC filtering on you could have any number of reasons it is not reconnecting properly. It could be trying to connect to the other network if the signal strength is high enough. You also might set the router up to not broadcast its name to the world and attach to the WAP manually.

I would also suggest disabling the NIC in WS#1 that is not being used...because that will remove another variable and because I am paranoid about people sniffing wireless traffic in a business environment. I would tend to agree with one of the other threads here that, if you can run a wire to the other PC do it and remove the wireless problem totally. I do not like wireless in a business environment especiallywhen payroll and other sensitive info is on that box. (I am security paranoid ;-))
