Thin client bad, people. Look at website UIs, for goodness' sake: they're a massive leap backwards in every way possible.
And there's the more fundamental problem that not only is use of your data tied to some particular organisation's product, as with, say, MS Office, you ability to use that product at all depends on that organisation's *continual* support for it. If MS Office was web-based thin-client foo, you'd *have* to be running Office XP now, or whatever version they're up to. Still happy with Word 97? Tough! We no longer run the servers for it. |
