I found I prefered X2 with the keyboard. About the only game I've found that I prefer joystick in is for BF1942 planes (but not choppers).

Mine is a logitech though so that could explain it (I dislike logitech but since it was between them and saitek and I didn't like the feel of the floppy saitek one I decided to risk it and ended up with a problem with the centering (with I had to dissasemble the joystick to fix) and a throttle that is awkwardly placed and doesn't have any way to tell if it's centered. It's an Extreme 3d pro if anyone is interested)
