dl stands for definition list...
It's very good for when you've got a bunch of key->value associations, and you want to display it nicely.

<dt> is the listing.
<dd> is the definition.

You can have multiple <dt>'s for one <dd>, or multiple <dd>'s for one <dt>.
As I've used it for your page, you have the institution name <dt>, then the multiple contact details <dd>'s for each institution.
