| Well other than getting lost in Montreal airport, and having my luggage go missing in Heathrow, the trip From Canada was relatively uneventful. Picture 1 is Edmonton from the air as I depart. Picture 2 is the Themes river as we approach London. Also at Heathrow Picture 3 is the Concorde. I don't know if it is still in service or if this is just a static display (any one know for sure, feel free to post an answer.
Picture 4 is the English countryside from the air. The farmlands are like a patchwork quilt.
Picture 5 is my kitty Carmella whom I missed. She has been in Sweden taking care of Matte
Pictures 6 and Picture 7 are a house built as part of a housing project in 1905, but are now very trendy and expensive.
Chia-Horse; a full size horse and wagon formed out of some sort of shrubbery (its a nice shrubbery)
The knives and sheaths are carved from reindeer antler and bone by the Sami people.
they are the Native peoples to the Scandinavia regions
On the weekend we went up to the summer home to unwind. photo 10 shows yours truly enjoying a cold beer and a Swedish meatball sandwich (yum). 11 is the summerhouse, there is also a small guest house that sleeps two. picture 12 is me again this time earning my keep by grilling some steaks on my mother-in-law's barbecue.
Believe it or not, Grapes grow in Sweden. My Mother-in-law planted these and we all laughed at her, but as you can see, they are doing very well.
Carmella enjoys being out of the city and playing in the tall grass. Isn't she a pretty cat?
There are all sorts of growing things in Sweden. Lingonberries Are a national symbol of Sweden. Mushrooms are also in abundance. Some are eatable while others are poisonous.
Animals
This Bee was strange; the last stripe on is abdomen is white. I have never seen a bee like this before.
Snails on a rock in the sea. I like this picture for the reflections on the water.
I'm not sure what kind of beetle this is, The shell is an iridescent blue/purple colour. This was a fun opportunity for me to use my macro Lens. I think that this is a monarch butterfly, or closely related to the monarch. I was surprised that it sat still on the pear long enough for me to take several pictures of it.
Historic things
This church is Bokenas church. The original church (which I did not get pictures of) was built in the end of the bronze age (1000 a.d.) I do like the design of the new church which was built in 1900.
I have tons of pictures of these rock carvings which date back to 1500 b.c to 500 B.C. this is only one example.
This monument has runes on the side. I was surprised at how well they show up on the picture. The translation of the runes is believed to say "Joar in Ar Carved this stone for Ramund"
Artsy pictures
Sunset over the water
An old wooden fishing boat
A glass of wine on a picnic table
