| Don't take this as me being a jerk, because that's not what I'm trying to be. And I'll also be the first to admit, that I haven't hit middle age yet either. But, I'll pass on some things that I believe are truisms for > 90% of the population. 1)You will have a few crappy jobs that don't pay nearly enough before you finally have the experience needed to land something good. 2) What you end up doing will likely be very different from what you thought you'd end up doing in college. 3) "End up" is relative. I'm considering entering my fourth carreer field at the ripe old age of 32. My wife is already on her fifth and finally seems to be pretty satisfied with what she's doing. 4) Nobody knows what they want to be when they grow up. I think most people have an idea of an ideal job or two, but those don't pan out for most of us, so we find something we can tolerate and settle. |
