My doctor, in diagnosing my migraines (after only 15 years of HMO-friendly misdiagnosis) said that caffeine-response and sight/sound sensitivity were defining hallmarks of migraine headaches. I saw that dr. after having a headache for 3 days that was motion-sensitive, something that was unusual for my previous migraine types.
But then, migraines come in about 5 or 6 different types, with varying symptoms, and doctors frequently misdiagnose. Generally, if there's no trauma, no withdrawl, no reason to suspect aneurysm, and you're well hydrated, it's probably a migraine.
BTW: 3 weeks is about the minimum withdrawl for caffeine. Did you get the body aches that go with it? Those suck-- they feel like you've got the flu. |
