You can say a lot of bad things about Dell by Control2005-09-12 01:42:48
Dell server support with 4 hr response is ok by classic_jon 2005-09-12 09:07:01
but their desktop support sucks rocks.

My old company had a lot of Dell desktops and anytime I called their support center they would send some flunky that had an A+ cert that didn't know what to do when he encountered two Hard drives in a box and it would not boot to windows because he had left the replacement slave HDD set as master. The same tech left the building *with the cable* for the CD rom and DVD-RW drives and told me everything was working properly and that he had even burned a cd... to test the drive out. I actually *CHASED HIM DOWN* in the parking lot when I walked in to the Presidents office and the case was still open and the drive cable was gone. I had him call his boss on his cell phone right there and read him the riot act and then told him that I had better have a tech out there the next day with all of the correct parts that could tech his way out of a wet tissue or I would send the pc directly in to Dell support per my agreement with our rep from the last 4 times similar things had happened.
