Image analysis? by vectorz 2005-09-12 06:29:41
Anybody with experience in the afore mentioned field? I'm testing the possibility for my thesis but have absolutely not clue about it. (So maybe a tutorial is a good idea.)

What I'm basically looking for is: I have (scanned) prictures of microscope slides with some stuff/slime on it. What I'd like to know is the total coverage of the slide by the stuff and maybe a chart of the realtive density (=^ brightness) as a spread sheet (i.e. the values pf each pixels or cluster rof pixels) or in different colors (like a map).

Anybody got and ideas how to do this? Are special tools needed or can it be done with common tools (Paint, Gimp, PSP, Photoshop).

Thanks in advanace
