I spent 5 hours trying to get some bloody CDs! by tnglives 2005-09-12 05:22:27
Someone wrote on the wrong side of the install media. No big deal, I thought. Just reorder them, and ship these back if they need proof of purchase.

Customer Service -> Tech Support -> Customer Service -> Warranty -> Sales -> Customer Service -> complaints, plus repetitions and disconnections

I spoke to 2 people with Indian accents, one of whom spoke to his supervisor no less than 6 times, leaving me on hold forever. He finally got very rude with me, even though I was being quite polite. I think he hung up, as I recall.

Customer service kept telling me that "it'll be no problem", then transferring me to someone who said they couldn't do it. Of course customer service wouldn't stay on the line long enough to ask.

The complaints department had horrible static on THEIR END of the line.

I dealt with something like 7 different people for this one call (well, 2 or 3 with disconnections). And perhaps one of them was competent. This was about 2 years ago.

I finally got 2 CDs of four, and one of them wasn't the right one.
