a HW problem. Try and check your RAM, and maybe boot a Linux (e.g. Knoppix live CD, so you don't have to install a thing). Since Linux tends to be slightly more touchy about crap or broken HW, this is always a good test... :-)
And yes, I also would say, problems with power is most likely it.
