You can say a lot of bad things about Dell by Control2005-09-12 01:42:48
  They'll NOT send you a techie but a nice box... by Qcumber-some 2005-09-12 02:31:16
to send your computer in. And this box they'll send you one day later than you expected the techie replacing the failed thing. They call this "Pickup&Return". This box is for sending the broken stuff in (that's the return - they already picked you up when they sold you their stuff) at your cost and you'll probably see your stuff again half a year later when it's not necessary anymore because you've got new stuff (you need your computer for work, mostly). And if you're lucky then the broken stuff got really fixed and it's not only a refurbished 'return' box. And for all that you'll owe them half a new discount computer (not at Dell's, of course) for "repair service" and twice a normal mail packet fee for getting your stuff back.
Dell may have new technology before others have (good 16" Widescreen displays with 1920x1200 on notebooks YEARS before other manufacturers for example), but they not really have discount prices and their service sucks totally.
