Or a power problem. In that case, reinstalling won't fix diddly.

I'd try to run it off a UPS for a couple of days before I reinstalled. Brown-outs are nasty things.

I live in the country so all of my services are spotty at best. My UPSes send me warning beeps regularly. Even if I don't notice the lights dimming, my power is dropping.
