(since the best you can do get rid of other borders on a div is set them to the same color as the background, which would get really lengthy). I take it the problem was getting the
aligned to the left, instead of centered? Google says via http://www.saila.com/usage/tips/#hr that IE differs from other browsers such that HR { text-align: left; } should work for IE to left-align, whereas HR { margin-left: 0; } would work for other browsers. Combining both would presumably work for both, though it might annoy the W3C. Since I don't have IE, I won't bother to try to test.
