Wrong scam, wrong guy! by Mr.Taco 2005-09-11 12:37:32
Today I got an email from PayPal stating that they had completed a transaction on my account. It seems that a guy (in California) had bought a gold plated Rolex bracelet on eBay using my account. It took a couple of seconds to sink in, but then I began to laugh so hard I nearly fell of my chair.

You see, I cancelled my VISAcard almost six months ago, so I would like to see the one that would be able to get a cent from my bank account through PayPal. Also the guy's name and address was on the receipt, so either he's a scammer without a brain or it's simply a very, very stupid mistake from PayPal.

To be on the safe side I'm phoning my bank tomorrow and I have already changed my passwords on both eBay and PayPal. I also notified PayPal of the incident. I even received a noticed from eBay that said they had detected a possible password abuse.

Ah well, at least I got a good laugh from the whole thing. :-)
