DesertRat has already shared his experience. I've tried to do the same. I've never seen a merc working for us do anything which any of us would not have done. They've behaved in a proffesional manner, they usualy coordinate with us, and their regulations (the important in-theater bits) generaly closly resemle ours. They do not execute, assasinate, or otherwise murder pople unless under contract to the military/government. There have been instances where individuals have overstepped their bounds and they have been disciplined for it.

You want specific cites, you're not going to get them because I don't want to violate OPSEC requirements. All I can tell you is what the individuals I've observed and worked with have been like. And as DesertRat correctly pointed out, most of them are ex-military or ex-special forces. If you think that they're going to behave like civilized, proffesional soldiers in the military, and then join a private organization and start behaving like savages, there's not much more I can say to you.
