How to donate network hardware to Katrina victims? by BaruMonkey 2005-09-11 10:33:17
I am taking a class this semester called Computers & Society. The honors adjunct section of the class may be taking on a project to try to get some spare wireless networking equipment donated to the area that was struck by Katrina to help with the rebuilding process.

What we are trying to find out is the best way to get this equipment donated. "Best" might have multiple meanings here, like the fastest, simplest, or cheapest way to get it there, or making sure it gets put to use where it's needed most. We may look at pros and cons of going the official way (extreme = donating directly to FEMA) or a more informal way (extreme = driving it down and dropping it off with a friend who wants it).

What I'm looking for here is input from the UFicle on how to (and how not to) get this hardware donated. Websites you've seen that accept this sort of thing, people you know there who need it, even offers of your personal help. Just checking out what options are out there.
