Must be Vampire: The masquerade. I think the storyteller system emphasise the story and the roleplaying more than other systems, and the setting in Vampire was perfect for the storyteller part. Many mysteries and intrigues. We could play for hours without throwing a single die, just playing out the roles and exploring the mysteries.
On the other hand, I did also like Neotech, a swedish RPG. Very cyberpunkish and based on action. The combat system was very realistic and still quite simple.
And I can't forget Living Steel and the Phoenix Command combat system. This was also a favourite, but this game was dependent on a GM that knew all the rules without checking the books. Especially in combat situations.
And it is strange that so few has mentioned Call of Cthulhu. Oh, the memories of all my characters that ended up either dead or as raving lunatics...
It's about ten years since last time I played any RPG, but I still remember most of the rules and the characters I played. =) |
