Overly necessary rant: by skippy-ish_guy 2005-09-11 00:29:48
Got to work today and the manager looks at me and says "There's going to be a staff meeting tomorrow at the downtown store. Attendance is mandatory." Okay, I think to myself, I can do that. "At 7 AM." She finishes. Seven AM. I just worked until midnight, and you want me to get up in six hours, go to this meeting, expecting me to be fully functional. Calling me is I'm not there at seven on the dot. It couldn't have been scheduled for when all the stores closed at 9 PM, when everyone would be fine with being there for a short while, or even closing the stores early to have the meeting at 7PM. No, that would make SENSE. Instead they want to make every staff member cram into the tiny little downtown store (I'd have used the Northside store, as its way bigger, but I guess it's not close enough to the owner's house to make it worth it). There are four almost fully staffed stores owned by the company. We have at least twelve people plus managers at our store. Everyone else has the same. Plus the five owners. And they want us there for two hours.

/me wanders off to bed, muttering non-FYOSS words.
