I (if I had the presence of mind, which I don't always) would have said, yes, I had plans. Given that what you do on your break is none of her business, the fact that you had plans to go on break at 11 is quite sufficient, whether your plan is to meet someone for lunch or get your hair done, or whether you have a hot date with a good book. She's not allowed to judge whether your plan is important enough.
I try to stick to a policy of "if you didn't see fit to mention it before I left work yesterday, it's not happening today." Being fairly conflict-averse, though, I often cave. :P |
