Vista and WinXP64 simply don't have drivers, which is for Vista understandable (is brand new and still only in beta) and for XP64 tolerable (relatively new and very uncommon). Either way, it's not Microsoft's problem as OS works well (more or less). WinXP had some networking problems, but after some problem solving... I can't log in any longer (but let's not go there).
Besides, the Vista replaced Fedora 4 which had drivers neither for the printer nor WLAN. Beta or not, which one's better from user's point of view?
Don't get me wrong, I promote Linux as well, but different things server different purposes with different success.
I've tried various Linux distributions several times. To make a long story short, in my professional experience patience is *not* a virtue.
Besides, what's the point of having a Linux only to run VMWare or WINE (for applications such as Visual Studio, MSSQL, etc.)? |
