I'm about ready to pitch my pc into the pond out back, and go get a job trimming hedges.
It's not so much that what I'm doing is not right, it's that I'm still new enough at this that I figure we should do it right, the first time.
Unfortunately, management here likes to SAY they agree, but then they turn around and say things like "well, I know that 4.3.3 isn't released yet, but we promised it to the customer, so ship it to them anyway - they promise not to use it in production..."
gah.
I spent 2 weeks getting sooo close to release, and then the CEO took the database home on his laptop for the weekend to "fix" it - and now the damn thing won't export out of his Oracle in proper UTF8 format...why? because he "didn't want to bother me" when he installed Oracle, so he chose a different, ALMOST UTF8 character set...
I'm seriously ready to go play in the dirt for a while. |
