about how a language develops. And it used the word definately as an example.

A word gets acceptance by usage. And definately is getting so much use that it is becoming accepted. In another twenty years, the word will be 'definately' and the word 'definitely' will be a quaint old outdated usage.

The comparison was the word 'miniscule' which developed from the word 'minuscule'. Both are technically correct, but nobody uses 'minuscule' any more.

In other words - resistance is futile. We will be assimulated.
