to accomplish just that by meeting with them in groups and talking to them about what is going on. To do much more would be impossible to do and still continue his daily duties. This would be like asking the CEO of a company to personally meet with EVERY SINGLE employee in a multinational company with about 5000 employees. The CEO would have no time to do his job and would be turned into and overglorified greeter. It would be nice, but not practical in reality. This is what the Military Officers and that persons Commanding officers are for. to meet with the families because THEY actually knew them and have lost a friend and comrade as well and can share in the greiving process. To follow you argument to the extreme, why shouldn't Clinton have had to meet with all of the people he sent off with the military that were killed in peacekeeping missions and in the Navy ship that was bombed, etc. I am sure Clinton met with some, but not all of them. Same goes for any other president who has sent troops into harms way. Should the president in WWII have met with every troops family? Your argument has to apply to all presidents and not just Bush. Once you have said "I am sorry for your loss and he went over on my orders." what more is there to say...really?
