the business process itself is broken. Then you need the cooperation of the customer to remove the a) base duplication of effort, b) multiple required approvals, and c) blocks in communication due to empire-building and/or tunnel vision. Without a buy-in from the people on the ground, at all levels, your effort is wasted. This from one of those "people on the ground", who has been through several "computerized streamlining" exercises. grrrr.
