have quite an impact. I haven't tried the Firefox development versions that do that - I imagine they speed up the browsing quite a bit but probably make the memory performance atrocious unless FF has improved memory managment elsewhere.

I'll be looking forward to seeing what FF 1.1 looks like. I'm hoping they'll manage to clean up the install process and make the auto-updating a fair bit more reliable, as those are probably the biggest turn-offs for computer-inexperienced people who want to try extensions but can't really handle managing them between versions.
