just so people have something to eyeball them at, my Firefox instance running right now on my w*** laptop with 12 open tabs and 13 extensions installed is taking up 60 megs.
That's still too much, I agree (though I disagree that stability is lower, I've *never* had a FF crash on this particular machine), but it seems to be less than Opera with what I assume are the default settings on your machine.
When I tried out Opera 8, I turned off all the caching options and that brought it down to about 40 megs with multiple tabs open. So your mileage may vary. |
