I still have lines from Scapino, Coyote on a Fence, Damn Yankees and Violet rumbling around my head.
But then, that's part of the reason for 'homework'. Actors, good ones, learn their lines so well they're "back-brained" completely, so then when they hit the stage all they know is how they feel and when they come off they have no idea what they said, only how they felt and what they were trying to do--the lines they memorize become exactly the only words they could possibly say. It's an awesome feeling--highly addictive. |
