Yep. I had it jump from cable modem's coax	by tnglives	2005-08-14 16:44:48
to the network port, to my router, and fry every connected NIC, as well as a few other components in the systems. There were enough bloody grounds along the way, so I really don't get it. But now I put almost every power cable a UPS. And if any wire goes into an exterior wall, it goes through some kind of surge suppression. Well, excluding fiber, and speaker cables. I haven't seen any kind of suppressors for the latter, as they are rather spiky by nature.
