*gulp* What an amazing talent I have by thread_killer2005-08-14 10:41:11
well, but by zeitnot 2005-08-14 10:58:26
you must be speaking to an audience full of people who have done it. I myself have built almost everything -but- a shopping cart, but if I had to, I wouldn't panic at this point. It all depends on what sort of tools you have available.

If you have asp.net available, I believe that one of the asp.net "starter kits" is an e-commerce site. On the other hand, if your host is Linux with PHP and Perl et al, there are a lot of published shopping cart modules for those tools too.

Wiring up your shopping cart to the payment service you select is the critical stage, and the service's own website ought to have developer info and perhaps even some sample code for various scripting languages.

I'd have done what you're doing some time ago, but I still don't have anything to e-sell. There is no commodity that inspires me sufficiently to want to sell it over the internet.

Anyone wishing for some shareware tool or app that doesn't exist yet, but would pay 20-30 bucks for?
