I will refrain from adding the usual "moose-breath" to that.

It is not "Ten Liberals Attacking One Conservative."

"Swarming" and "Proof by inundation" indeed.

When debates are held, the two or at most three parties on each side (and it is usually an exchange between TWO total members of the list) present their arguments. COMMENTS are made as asides, but the actual discussion is between the principals who have agreed to discuss whatever subject.

Most of traffic, as is the case on this board and every other list I've ever been on, is cruft and personal, "in" jokes between various members. But when a discussion is on-going, we behave by different rules. Side comments are usually of the sort requesting documentation for one or another specific point, but the main thread is left to the initiators.
